Designer Creates a Wooden Speaker Handbag

Sunday, August 30th, 2009 88 views

If you’ve ever wished you had a wooden box which was shaped like a handbag and had a speaker in it, Japanese artist Yoshihiko Satoh has just the thing for you. The speaker—which is available in maple and mahogany—features a built-in amp, a 30W driver and enough room to carry your MP3 player, but that’s probably about it. If you decide to fork out the ¥31,500 ($336) for the speaker, be sure not to puncture your completely unprotected woofer. Also, you will be laughed at, there’s no avoiding that.

Wisen Up (free) contains a database of different personality quizzes, ancient cures, body language, medical quotes, tell me why, myths, weird and incurable diseases, body facts, types of doctors, phobias and first aid mistakes. The application also includes a n interactive category where users can test their ability to identify different sicknesses. LookItUp! ($1) is a search engine tool for the iPhone and iPod touch which allows users to perform searches across multiple search engines simultaneously. The application provides access to popular search engines like Google, Yahoo!, AltaVista, and more. Users can choose between different search categories and LookItUp! will automatically choose the appropriate search engines to use. Touch KO ($5) is a boxing simulation game that allows players to fully customize their own character. The game includes a Quick Play mode, allowing users to jump into a game at any point, along with a Career mode. In Career mode players start as an inexperienced fighter and must work their way up through the ranks by winning titles. As players progress through their career they can upgrade their stats with different training routines. Facebook iGift4u ($1) can be used to send virtual content to friends on Facebook. Users can add images from the applications database or the devices photo library to their own wall, or a friends wall. The application can also be used to share YouTube content with friends. Alternatively, instead of using Facebook users can also directly share media from within the application via email. Aqua Globs ($1) is a game where the goal is to combine globs of the same color. The game includes three different colored globs, blue, orange, and green. The blue and orange globs must be combined with other globs of the same color while the green character can be joined with either. As the game progress the speed increases and players will have to react faster to keep the different colored globs separate. Current iPods disappear in advance of Sept. event

Friday, August 28th, 2009 110 views

All current iPods SKUs are being discontinued, sources in Apple’s Authorized Reseller network claim. The sources note that even though stock is running low or empty in many cases, no new resupply shipments to third-party vendors have been scheduled. The dwindling numbers have been anticipated however, as an attempt by Apple to drain inventory in advance of new iPods, which should be announced in September. Apple has hosted regular music-related events in September for the past several years, promoting both iPod- and iTunes-related developments. This year’s event is expected on September 9th , and could see cameras added to the iPod touch, nano and classic. Simultaneous may be the deployment of iTunes 9 , adding Blu-ray support and social networking functions.
