Monday, August 31st, 2009 138 views

Klipsh on Monday announced that its iGroove SXT iPod dock has been updated with several new features. The device now sports a dedicated amplifier for each driver, helping to reduce distortion and enhance overall sound quality. Both bass ports have also been re-tuned to eliminate port noise. The updated system integrates a 1000mA circuit to quickly recharge a connected iPod or iPhone. Stereo sound is provided by two 2.5-inch woofers in a ported enclosure, along with dual ?-inch horn-loaded tweeters. The device has retained its original black finish and silver trim with a black clothe grille. The iGroove SXT can now be purchased for $150. GTA: Chinatown Wars, Beaterator coming to iPhone

Monday, August 31st, 2009 157 views

Developer Rockstar is bringing two of its games to the iPhone and iPod touch this fall, an announcement reveals. The first is Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars , a port of the recent Nintendo DS title. Players assume the role of Huang Lee, a Triads gang member who travels to Liberty City after his father’s suspicious death. Gameplay resembles the first two GTA titles, with players driving, shooting and running using a top-down perspective. Chinatown Wars adds a series of mini-games however, and places an increased emphasis on storytelling through 2D panel art. Pricing and iPhone- or iPod-specific features have yet to be announced. The other title is Beaterator , which lets players create their own music using samples created by Rockstar, and famous rap/hip-hop producer Timbaland. The game is claimed to contain “thousands” of loops and other sounds, as well as a simple interface. Song templates are provided, and gamers can also insert their own vocal recordings. Pricing has not been made public. Filed under : iPod , iPhone , gaming , audio , iPhone apps Other story tags : iPod touch , music Original source: feeds.macnn.com , delivered by rss-farm.ru

iPhone apps: Seedonk, Birthday C@rds, iThermometer

Monday, August 31st, 2009 151 views

Seedonk (free) can be used to wirelessly monitor a video feed from a webcam. The software can be used to turn most Windows webcams into remote monitoring devices. Users can view and control the camera, manage multiple settings, and share the feed with other people. Seedonk also can be used to control the pan and tilt functionality of the Mister Robot-o and Logitech QuickCam Orbit AF webcams. Birthday C@rds ($2) enables the creation of personalized birthday cards from an iPhone or iPod touch. Users can select from 45 different templates, customize colors, and add photos or text. Photos and text can be positioned and resized and cards in progress can be saved for later editing. After finalizing a card on a device’s screen, users can choose to e-mail it to one person or a group of recipients. The application also allows users to share their cards on Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr. iThermometer ($1) uses GPS information to locate a user and then retrieves temperature information for that location. The users location is shown on a map with the option of changing between satellite, normal, and hybrid views. Users can also choose to display their coordinates within the application and whether to use celsius or fahrenheit. Shadow Camera ($2) can be used to take multiple pictures and then combine them together. In order to properly use this application the phone should be mounted to something to keep the background consistent. Shadow Camera layers together the selected images and ghosts the details that change from image to image. A Parking Spot (free) can help users find where they parked their car. As a user is leaving their parked car they can open the app and add the GPS location. Then when they need to find their car at a later time opening the app will point them in the right direction. A picture of the parked car can also be added to visually assist in locating the car later. SanDisk Sansa Clip+ Plus Review

Monday, August 31st, 2009 100 views

The Sansa Clip has been a favorite among many as a quick and cheap way to listen to digital music. It has been a player for beginners and enthusiasts alike with a straight forward user interface along with top notch sound quality many times being paired with headphones and amps 10 times its price. For these reasons we made the Clip the number one MP3 player for 2008 . Since the Sansa Clips was release we immediately started screaming for a Clip with a microSD card slot, sure the Fuze had the same sound quality and features but it didn’t have the compact size that many users appreciated about the Clip. SanDisk has responded to our requests in the second generation Clip dubbed the Sansa Clip+. In addition to adding the microSD card slot SanDisk has taking the time to improve the player all around rightfully giving it its second generation badge.
