Matalot ($1) is a task manager designed for the iPhone and iPod touch. Users can enter tasks which need to be completed and include information like related contacts and locations. Contacts can be linked directly from the Contacts app and location data can be added automatically using the built in location services. The software also allows users to set a priority level for each task. RouteBuddy Atlas (free) allows users to store and access maps without the need for an Internet connection. The application includes support for all of RouteBuddy’s raster maps, including topographic maps from the USGS and Ordnance Survey. RouteBuddy Atlas uses common gestures for interacting with each map, including pinching and swiping, and can also use the built-in GPS to determine a users current location. Solution Zero ($2) is a game where players attempt to turn a series of numbers into a calculation that works out to equal 0. The game displays a series of numbers and uses can then begin selecting different operators to create an equation. Solution Zero includes more than 325,000 different puzzles which have been spread out over four different difficulty levels. SlotZ Racer ($1) is a slot car racing game that lets players compete against computers and friends. Up to four players can race on one iPhone in several different race modes including, Quick Race, Time Trials, and Endurance. The game also includes unlockable circuits, cars, track locations, a track-editor and championship challenges. Pi Cubed Lite (free) allows users to construct mathematical expressions as they would be written on a piece of paper. The application includes support for a range of mathematical operations including logarithms, trigonometric functions, arbitrary roots, exponents, and factorials. The entered formulas are instantly evaluated and can be stored within the internal database for later reference or editing. The lite version allows users to store up to five calculations while the full version has no limit. Along with the FiiO PS1110 portable speaker I reviewed last week I also got a FiiO S3 portable speaker. While the PS1110 is exclusively a portable speaker, the S3 steps up the game and adds an integrated MP3 player that plays off SD(HC) cards.

I’m not sure Archos can get away with adding “er” to a product that is not only the same, but in the same sub category without getting a call from SanDisk’s lawyers. Though I don’t think SanDisk has much to worry about considering the faith of other screenless players near the same rock bottom price. Archos Clipper follows the same screenless path as the Samsung Pebble or the Creative Zen Stone , but offers a clip just like, well… the Sansa Clip . The Archos Clipper sells for around $30 and comes in a 2GB capacity. [ My Memory ]
