Worms for iPhone arrives at App Store
After some delay , Team17 has released the iPhone version of Worms , its flagship strategy game. Players control a cluster of cartoon worms as they try to annihilate all other competitors. The game is turn-based, and sees players use a variety of nonsensical weapons including holy hand grenades and exploding sheep. Six different environments are present, each with randomized terrain varying from session to session. Single-player modes include one-off skirmishes, and a set of 50 challenges with unlockable items. Multiplayer matches support up to four people, each of whom is able to distinguish their worms using custom names, voices and grave markers. A current iPhone 3.0 feature is support for custom music; more is promised in the future. The game costs $5 and requires iPhone 2.2.1 firmware. Some users have complained of performance lag on devices other than the iPhone 3GS.
