AAA has released AAA Discounts , an application for the iPhone and iPod touch that uses GPS technology to find nearby business offering deals for AAA members. The application contains over 100, 000 places within Canada and the U.S, and has a variety of discounts ranging from hotels and restaurants to clothing and computers. In addition to finding discounts the program can also pinpoint the user?s location, and provide a detailed map that displays the best route to take for reaching their destination, along with other possible paths that can be taken. AAA discounts allow users to sort the list of deals by name, distance, or business, and to customize their search by selecting specific categories. When searching for discounts the software continues to track the user?s location, and automatically performs a new search as the map view is adjusted. Users also have the ability to join AAA or initiate roadside assistance through the application. AAA Discounts is available as a free download from the App Store.
